Isaac is an accomplished pianist and educator with a rich background in both classical and jazz music. His versatility as a performer and teacher makes him an engaging and inspiring mentor for students of all ages and musical interests. A native of Ontario, Canada, Isaac began classical piano studies at age seven. In 2011, he placed third in the Ontario Music Festivals Association, and in 2012 he earned his RCM Level 10 Piano with first-class honours. During high school, he discovered a deep passion for jazz, which led him to pursue advanced studies at the Schulich School of Music in Montreal. Isaac graduated from McGill University in 2018 with a Bachelor of Music degree in Jazz Piano, having studied under distinguished musicians including Josh Rager and Jeff Johnston. He has since been active as both a professional musician and a dedicated piano teacher in Montreal.

Isaac’s lessons are thoughtfully tailored to each student’s goals, experience level, and musical interests. He works with beginners through advanced students, adapting his approach to support both structured learning and creative exploration. Lesson topics can include jazz, classical repertoire, rock, blues, and pop, with a strong emphasis on core skills such as technique, sight-reading, music theory, improvisation, and ensemble playing. Students interested in jazz receive a solid foundation in jazz harmony, rhythm, and improvisation, while those focused on classical study build strong technical and interpretive skills. Beginners typically start with a combination of the Suzuki Method and the Piano Adventures series, progressing smoothly into the Royal Conservatory of Music (RCM) certificate program. Students who choose to pursue RCM examinations consistently earn excellent results, scoring in the high 80s and low 90s. Isaac is also experienced in preparing students for university entrance auditions, helping them develop confidence, musicianship, and strong performance skills. His teaching philosophy is supportive and student-centred, balancing technical rigour with musical creativity. Isaac is passionate about helping students develop their own musical voice, whether through mastering classical repertoire, learning contemporary styles, or exploring jazz improvisation.
