As a child, I convinced my parents to let me take music classes. Even before I had a musical education, I knew the way this language would be my native tongue. Music is more than just a few notes in the air. It's a way for the player and their audience to connect. Sometimes, I even use music to introspect and find answers within myself. I have been involved in the music world since nine when I started learning the basics with the recorder. I participated in many group concerts and was one of the best students. Flash forward to 14, I started learning the piano, which I have continued ever since. During these years, I have had a few younger students tutored and played in concerts with them. I also have an education in vocal training, strengthening my piano abilities. Being able to detect and emphasize the melody of a piece is an essential ability to develop as a musician, and singing it is a helpful way to replicate it on the piano. I hope that by working with you, I can show you music in a way that can change your life as much as it did mine. :)

I am a pianist with a post-secondary degree (DEC) in classical music with a concentration in classical piano. However, I am as passionate about other genres of music as one can possibly be. In order to plan the classes, it would first be good to set a goal with a student, recognize their interests and plan to achieve this goal. I would work with you depending on your musical interests, whether classical or pop, while teaching the basic techniques and necessities to excel as a pianist. We would also have small sessions of musical theory and ear training, which will come in handy in practice. I am okay teaching all ages, levels beginner to intermediate.
