Arthur S. — Guitar Teacher — Verdun, Montreal

Arthur Pascau Smith is a guitarist, bassist, and audio engineer based in Montréal and originally from Vancouver. As an educator, Arthur has taught privately and in group settings of all ages, primarily at the Sarah McLachlan School of Music in Vancouver. Arthur holds a Bachelor of Applied Music in Jazz and Contemporary Guitar, and a Diploma in Sound Design from Vancouver Film School. His musical projects Last Ark Out and Tiny Havoc have received nominations for the Western Canadian Music Awards (Urban Artist of the Year), been invited to the Banff Centre for the Arts residency programs, and been funded by the Canada Council for the Arts.

I tailor my lessons based on the interests and goals of each student. I mix developing an understanding of music theory and technique into exploring the students favourite music in a engaging and fun way, so that musical knowledge develops naturally with time. I actively perform on both guitar and bass in many styles, so whether you want to dive into a new hobby or refine your playing further, I'm happy to help!
