Susana Arcila Tascón is a cello performer, educator, and animator with over eight years of experience. She is very passionate about teaching and performing. Her teaching experience includes private lessons, music camps, and outreach programs in the community, festivals and non-festivals settings. Susana has an extensive national and international experience playing with various orchestras including: Bathurst Chamber Orchestra, Orchestre de la Francophonie, Canadian Operatic Arts Academy Italy, Juan N. Corpas University Foundation Orchestra Colombia, as well as orchestras from the university of Montreal, University of Ottawa, and Western University. She has performed cello solo with diverse musical genres and also participated in several chamber music festivals in Canada and abroad. She has made an appearance on National Television for a Radio Canada show with a chamber ensemble. All these experiences have provided Susana with extensive repertoire of music and tools to enrich her pedagogy as a well-dedicated music mentor. My teaching style and philosophy focuses on adjusting my teachings to the students needs. I like to provide my students with great technical foundations that allow them to acquire and develop musical skills and a comfortable understanding of the instrument.
